Like all successful organisations we need people and money. Our aim is to set up a countrywide network of branches in order to coordinate fund-raising and charitable projects on a local level whilst also having the back up of a central national office. If you would like to become involved in running the charity, general fundraising or helping to organise projects we would like to hear from you. That is especially so if you have relevant specialist knowledge or experience. If you have something to offer then please get in touch. Whether it be taking on legal work on our behalf or standing on a street corner rattling a tin, anything that you can offer, no matter how small, will be much appreciated and move us a step closer to achieving our goals. The more people who get involved, the more money we will be able to raise for existing and future projects. How you can help us... Donate – It is unlikely in the foreseeable future that Steadfast will receive any public funding, so we remain totally dependent on private donations raised from the English community. Without funding we will not be able to properly address the problems faced by our community. Join Us – Become an associate member of the Trust. Associate Membership is open to anyone who donates a minimum of £2 per month through standing order (preferred method of membership) or pays an annual membership fee of a minimum of £24. As an associate member…..

Some members may wish to do some local leafleting or collecting second hand goods for a monthly flea market or car boot sale.

Shop Online – If you are shopping on-line take a look at our huge range of Steadfast Trust affiliated businesses. Every time you buy goods from any of our affiliated businesses through our on-line shop the charity will receive either a set donation or percentage of whatever you spend. We have everything from DVD’s to home insurance, mobile phones to fancy dress, Asda, Mothercare, John Lewis to the Early Learning Centre, HMV and Thorntons. You can visit our on-line shop here and remember to add it to your favourites. Visit the Steadfast Trust Shop Mobile Phones – Send us your second hand or broken mobile phones. Collect them from your friends or start a collection round with your neighbours or in your local area. Ask your local shop, businesses or schools to collect them for you. As a charity we can generate much needed income by recycling the mobile phones collected by our supporters. It doesn’t matter how old they are, whether they work or not and we don’t need the charger. If you have 10 or more we can arrange to get them picked up free of charge. Call the office for further details or if you need any picking up - 0115 9679444. Leafleting – We have leaflets for handing to friends and family or for pushing through letterboxes door to door. Every leaflet will let people know about the charity, help raise our profile and bring in more and more supporters and donors. Collection Tin (click to view)– Do you know of a local shop, business or pub that would take one of our collection tins or are you attending an event where you could shake a tin for us? We also have leaflet dispensers that can sit on a tabletop, counter or bar. Give us a ring 0115 9679444 Home Money Box (click to view) – Ask us to send you one of our home moneyboxes. Stick all your spare change in there, check down the back of the sofa, and when it’s full either send us a cheque or pay the change directly into our bank account. Help Out – Do you have any special skills? Are you an accountant, a solicitor, a teacher or a youth worker? Do you have any sales or marketing experience, graphic or web design? Are you a good public speaker, an organizer, a musician or do you have any land or property that we could use for future events. Fundraising – You could be organising a sponsored walk, run or (as someone else did) a sponsored bath race. Whether it’s £50 from a local car boot sale, £100 from a monthly flea market stall or just a few pounds from selling cakes at the summer fair – every single penny counts. Our charity is run entirely by unpaid volunteers so every single penny you give us goes directly to achieving our aims. Click here to download a printable sponsorship form in PDF format Talk About Us – The more you can talk about us the more other people will be aware not only that our charity exists but also of the issues that we are trying to address. English people are not normally encouraged to think of themselves as belonging to a distinct community. Some people feel uncomfortable talking about difficulties and discrimination which have a direct effect on our children and our community. It may seem terribly un-English but the more we can talk about these issues openly and confidently the more it will encourage others to do likewise. |
