On the 30th of November the Steadfast Trust had its Folkmoot (Annual General Meeting) in St Albans, Hertfordshire. At the Folkmoot a number of committed volunteers were informed on the progress of this new charity while later took part in discussions on offering ideas to push the Steadfast Trust further.
'Folkmoot' is an old English term meaning - 'Meeting of the people'.
Attendees were informed on how the charity in the last few years has been steadily raising more funds. The declared income at the end of the periods demonstrate this:
31 Mar 2008 £6,075
31 Mar 2007 £2,438
31 Mar 2006 £792
30 Apr 2005 £811
As with all registered charities this information can be viewed in the England & Wales Charity Commission website.
The charity has steadily succeeded in promoting itself well, with a growing subscriber list resulting in a respectable 700 hits per week, but clearly more needs to be done.
A number of targets have been set and it is expected that by the end of the financial year April 2009 the charity will have raised £10,000. By this time two projects should be in operation that shall assist the ethnic English, with particular focus towards children and cultural events. It was also agreed that the charity's website starts to provide news items on media issues that are directly relevant to the charity's concerns and goals.
As a charity we do need committed English people who have a passion for the indigenous English and are prepared to assist in helping our people of this great nation, and one of the first steps towards this is to become a donating Friend of the charity.
For those who donate a minimum of £2 per month and are interested in doing more, contact the charity on admin@steadfasttrust.org.uk and we can help you get more involved.
Future meetings and Folkmoots are to be open to Ealdormen (full members) who will be contacted once arrangements have been made.
