Trustee Appointed: Lynn Chorley

New Trustee - Lynn Chorley

Lynn is from West Sussex and has accepted the position of Trustee to the Steadfast Trust.

Her reasons for being involved in the charity are...
‘I feel passionate about English cultural identity and want to make a positive contribution to improve awareness of our unique heritage amongst fellow English men and women.’

Lynn’s interests and hobbies include Music, Photography, Travel, Crafts, History, Gardening, Reading, Puzzles, many of which have been put to good use for the benefit of the charity.

Lynn has been heavily involved in the charity for many years. Having taken on the role of membership secretary at the start of 2009 she created a comprehensive database of members enabling regular newsletters to be sent with details of Steadfast Trust projects and activities. She has attended several major events in Sussex and manned a stall on behalf of the Steadfast Trust including selling goods and also distributing leaflets and answering questions from the general public regarding the charity and its aims.

As a Trustee Lynn shall carry on with the important roles she currently does, as well as attend meetings to help decide the direction and focus of the charity.

Lynn is a welcome addition to the Trusteeship of the charity, her involvement has been invaluable and she provides great energy and commitment into advancing the Steadfast Trust.

Conflicts of Interests :-
All trustees are legally bound to provide details of any conflicts of interest and ensure that they do not conflict with the roles of duties of the Trusteeship. Any conflicts that do arise will result in the trustee being removed from the decision-making process of that particular issue. For example, Trustees are not allowed to decide on issues that can result in their financial gain and so must declare any conflict that may appear. Trustees are unpaid for work they do on behalf of the charity.

The charity sees no conflict of interest in Lynn’s work activities, and in fact recognises that her skills help complement the charity in its progression.
