Grants Department has been established
Submitted by: Steadfast Trust correspondent, 5th Jun 10

Grants Department is up and running
Since its inception, the aim of the Steadfast Trust has been to raise funds to provide grants to further its charitable objectives. To date this has been a somewhat hap-hazard affair, yet has achieved very admirable results.
The Grants Department has been setup to regulate the grant giving activities of the charity. This will allow for improved grant record keeping, following up on references, more complete and professional grant schemes and a central contact point for applicants.
The charity will also apply for grants from governmental / grant-giving bodies on behalf of affiliated groups and/or Steadfast Trust grant projects to increase the scope and range of our charitable goals.
Trustee Tim Hawke has been appointed to head this department; Trustees are unpaid dedicated volunteers who put a lot of their time and effort into the charity. Anyone with grant enquiries can contact Tim on grants@steadfasttrust.org.uk, and it is advised that should you wish to apply for a grant you can download the Grants Application Form, scan and email the completed form to the email addressed mentioned.
The departments immediate tasks will be to develop the grants webpage (currently under construction) with focus on the four areas of ‘Books for Learning’, ‘Community Development’, ‘Storytellers for Schools’ and ‘Cultural Events’, as well as ensure the take-up of the grant projects approved during the last meeting.
Books on early English Arts / Culture £750
Anglo-Saxon Storytellers for Schools £3000
Anglo-Saxon Gods poster £1000
The charities income is approx £6-7000 per year and the vast majority of this is used in grant giving activities that will be renewed on a year-by-year basis.
But this can only happen with your continued support, so please get involved, raise money and together we can make a difference.
