Early English Arts / Culture book grant – 50% remaining

Just some of the Universities in England to benefit from the Steadfast Trust

So far the charity has had a 50% takeup of this book grant from established universities. It does take time to locate the right institution since we are targeting those with courses that will most benefit from these books with particular emphasise on Anglo-Saxon Art and History.

The following universities / library faculties have accepted the grants

I would like to thank the Steadfast Trust for its kind offer, free of charge, of the books “Wayland’s Work” and “Anglo-Saxon FAQs”. This will be of enormous benefit those students, both undergraduate and graduate who pursue studies in the art and architecture and material culture of Anglo-Saxon England. Upon receipt they will be lodged in the Art History library so that all the students can access them.

We have strong interest in Anglo-Saxon studies both in our History and Archaeology schools and these would be valuable additions to our stock - there are always so many students on our Anglo-Saxon history modules that extra resources are particularly welcome!”


It is clear that these grants will be put to good use and are very much welcome. This is just one example of how the Steadfast Trust helps to promote learning of the unique cultural heritage of the early English.

With national financial reductions being made to education it is up to organisations such as the Steadfast Trust to help in what little way we can to allow English students to know their unique culture and heritage which many may feel has been an area that the indigenous people of this nation have been deprived off.
